Cannot run the garage door opener without it making a loud grinding noise and the door moving slow and in a jerky motion.
Began by troubleshooting the garage door opener to locate the source of said problem. Some wear on the drive system but upon opening the box found opener motor gear was grinding against and was not effective at producing horsepower. Replaced defective opener gear with a new motor component. Lubricated new motor gear and tested the system afterwards. The opener was working fine.
