Problems with the garage door opener not working sometimes, issues are on and off so unreliable performance.
Arrived at customer’s residence and started running troubleshoot procedures on the LiftMaster opener connected to the garage door. Found no physical damage at first, although motor gear was somewhat worn. Opening the logic board, found frayed wiring inside. Combined with the motor gear wear this was likely the cause of the problems. Replaced frayed wires in the opener logic board and installed the new motor gear, which we lubricated to ensure smooth performance. The garage door shows no other signs of problems.
